It was fun, as kind of a car enthusiast you saw a lot of vintage models from 1969.
But I'm guessing the actors cost ~$50M - lets see if the movie breaks even.
I paid $1.75 Red Box to see it. Was it Tarantino enough ? Didn't need to be.

McCabe and Mrs. Miller

Back in 1970 Beatty was the top male movie attraction. If you signed him
you got the funding for the movie. But it would help if you had a top-notch
director too. Robert Altman had "Mash" under his belt so he was grade A, then.
But then the fussing starts with, well the audio was unclear and the advertising was
late or slow.
---What was unusual about this movie is the protagonist runs a whore house and
big business was trying to buy him out. Should we even care ? In most westerns
someone was trying to steal your cattle or a land claim. I saw this back in '72
and hardly remember any of it. But several scenes stayed with me.

the life of Muhammad

Born around 570 A.D. to tribes of Arabia, Muhammad lost both his parents
by age 6. Fortunately he got to know the love of his mother for awhile.
The tribe took care of him for awhile.
--- As a young adult he married a made older women, her status helped
Muhammad evolve politically. At some point he had revelations that he needed
to unite the tribes of all peoples. But his ideals came in conflict with the people
of Mecca. So he retreated to Medina. He repulsed attacks on Medina. He is
mostly responsible for the Quran. Eventually he won Mecca.
--- Interesting no drawings of Muhammad exist because he wanted no association
to him - only to Allah - his one God.
He lasted about 62 years. Jesus lasted 33.

low cost energy/power and other badly needed inventions.

These fantastic musical legends often follow the same track.
(massive success then massive drugs to sedate and soon death when they can't pull out of the spiral)
Usually the parents are dysfunctional, in John's case he was just a nuisance
until he showed them he has musical skills. His dad was just a nuisance.
Reginald Dwight is his birth name.
--- As an international star I've liked Elton since his first monster hit "Your Song".
Of course my buddies and me didn't know he was singing to a male ! And of course
when the movie goes Brokeback Mountain you'll need to avert your eyes.
Taron makes the rest of the movie watchable.

This film sees Lyndon Banes Johnson in a sympathetic light. Considering the reigning president
was murdered in his state ! And the route procession was changed the day before !
It looks like J.F.K. kept his friends close and his enemies closer. He needed LBJ as his running
mate to get the conservative voters.
--- John Fitzgerald Kennedy had many liberal views that put many conservatives aback. It was
Civil Rights that he went down swinging for ! LBJ carried that cross and force feed it to the
three executive branches.
--- Woody does a good job here. Draw your own conclusions.

Boys Don't Cry

It seems most people with sexual identification issues are usually way to highly sexed.
But when you think about it most young people have sexual issues. Not enough.
If you ask me very few of us transition from child to adult without sexual issues.
Unless you live in a mansion with 3 families and you find your love next door at age 14.
Swank plays a boy in a girls body. She tries hard to be one of the guys but can't seem
to get away from creeps.
Finally they tear that lustrous little fanny up.

Unfortunately for me people might read this and think I have no empathy for stricken
little girls. I love girls and would never knowingly hurt one. I might pick a verbal fight
with one but that's to let them vent. Because they like to be all understanding with you.
And prove they're 10 times smarter than you. They are maybe at best only 3 times smarter
than us guys.

The Nutty Professor

I saw this when I was 14. Just wanted to see what I remembered.
I remember a scene were Jerry drove a girl to a spot and opened a hanky
and told her to strip. I remember thinking, I gotta use that line !
But in this version he just asks her to remove her lipstick and kiss him.
Must've been a different movie. As it turns out Jerry was the first to try
steroids, or invent them in his movie. Actually it had more like a cocaine effect.
Anyway the French loved this clumsy dolt.

--- Yeah, I was kind of touched by this movie and the huge lips on this teacher.
She had to throw down to keep her class. After she earned their respect.
She got them to buy into Anne Frank's story. Which I just learned again.
Maybe 14 when she died of typhus. Only her father survived the war.

Promise

James plays a guy with schizophrenia. Like Cillian he plays off beat nut jobs, Woods is pigeon-holed as a louse.
Great actors find great directors and visa versa.
Of course this made for TV movie would jam a lot of symptoms into 90 minutes.
Schizophrenia is a ~30-40 yr. life sentence, your brain quits, Lou Gehrig's Disease your body gives out after 30-40 yr.
Dementia your brain can't remember well starting around 40 years of age.
As I've written here several times these peoples minds go blank evidentially. But before
they do, the parents turn them out, they can no longer handle them, then the cops "get" them and it's over.
They have no time for your precious fornication gone bad !
When you think of all the people murdered for human arrogance you would think
-WE- could put someone down, righteously.

Sons and Lovers

D. H. Lawrence wrote this story of man becoming a lover.
He saw that we would use some and get used some before we marry.
I knew this was some of the religious right's dogma... So the girlfriend
runs to her mother and her mother says her relationship with the boy is a horror.
But the daughter thinks love should be a joy. The mother says, the good Lord wills
us to suffer. And the only reason to marry is so the union is blessed. [with children]
Then she calls her daughter wicked for not wanting the thing to be dreadful and ugly.
Then the daughter prays to someone that her love be splendid. [a plentiful garden of carnal delight]
--- But as this movie goes on we see James has a very binding relationship with
his mother. Can't leave her.
So if this life is about suffering why invite children ? So you can will to them the
fruit of your labor ? What if you have move than one ? Can you divide it equally.
What about the favorite ?

A study was started in the '50-60's regarding mental health and heredity.
It looks like mental defectives were impregnated and the offspring was studied
closely for decades. Twin and triplets were especially desirable due to control
of similarities. As I've said, humans aren't guinea pigs, but we are. None of us are
entitled to siblings but hey, what a surprise !
I'm sure Kellman Sr. wouldn't have let this charade go on.

And this one is bloody Native American. Elouise Cobell a Blackfeet Warrior
bothered the U.S. government for 14 years until they paid her Class Action
suit of $3.4 billion ! Yea, because the U.S. government can delay in courts
for years. And steal oil and gas rights all damn day ! Unfortunately she
died before the first check was mailed. So she couldn't have been a major
deity because cancer killed her.
$3.4B / 300K = $11333.00 better than nothing.
