Volvo Trucks

Postby TheeTFD » Tue Mar 11, 2014 9:37 am

I have complaints Volvo.
1. Your huge doors won't stay open. It's sure fun to have the slightest breeze blow the door on your leg. Or any incline of the dock rock the door back on you.
2. Why don't you adjust your headlights to your specification before you sell them to Swift ? I must be missing something because Swift thinks they're fine. Lighting up the road 25 feet in front of the truck. Should be more like 200 feet so you don't overdrive your night vision !
3. Not enough lights in the cabin or too many black holes.
4. Your blinkers and flashers have the same sound and it's the most god awful noise I ever heard. tocktoktocktoktoktocktocktocktocktok f'ing immature sound !
5. The drink holder is right next to the AC button so when it spills it sticky's the button hard. I believe the buttons could be placed higher.
6. Why can't any of the truck companies make a seat that doesn't rattle or squeak ? Nothing like going down a bumpy highway with a squeak every bump.
7. Why do all trucks need to fart as soon as we stop ? The fart is always directed at the ground so it sends sand and dirt flying at you.
Couldn't you ease it out up and away ?

*** This is good
1. The 12 volt connector on the dash for plugging in the CB. Very usable.
2. The truck is quiet but of course the rear speakers should be 10 in. minimum.
3. Your door handles don't pull off as easy as the International's

I agree with everything you say and think that it should be resolved.

CHAIN REACTION PILE-UPS
-
Big Rig truck drivers are supposed to be Professional Drivers.
I see way too many involved in chain-reaction-pile-ups.
I realize roads are used before Road Crews can salt/dirt/shovel them to semi-safe conditions.
But Pro-drivers should know this, especially in states like Nebraska and Iowa where
atmospheric conditions are warm and most during the day then freezing at night.
Perfect for Black-Ice. Especially in the early morning.
I don't know what causes the illusion that the big-rig is safe.
But they need to set the speed whenever dry roads are compromised, or any unsafe condition.
That means speeds down to 25-30 miles an hour not 45-55 mph.
No load due-date/time compromises safety ! And the industry knows this.
Hi-way 6 in south Utah is a prime example. 10 yr ago there were sections with only 18 inches
of shoulder. So if you needed to pull over you couldn't.
So I told my company I wouldn't drive it at night in a snow storm.
At least I waited for day-lite.
[I had driven 6 before so I knew how treacherous it could be]

My douche moments
-
So I had to be towed a couple times. Twice in 2 weeks.
Once there was extenuating circumstances.
I took the last slot to park nose in so carts could be put in the back of the trailer.
Then some ass-baby comes and takes my safe exit path.
I knew when he did it I had only jeopardous exit routes.
For some reason I chose not to tell him to wait.
So I looked at my options and chose to drop my front wheels in a foot deep Oklahoma rain gutter.
